The news out of the Texas Rangers medical facilities today is not really encouraging. Hamilton has been bothered by a nagging injury ever since he crashed into a wall while making a catch a few weeks ago. Today, he went on the disabled list, for what appears to be an indeterminate length of time. Sports Illustrated is reporting it as a groin injury that is similar to a sports hernia. It could be two weeks, or it could be two months. The team is seeking a second opinion, as they are not yet sure whether surgery will be required.
Hopefully, he gets back into action for good sooner rather than later. However, I hope he doesn’t rush back and injure himself further. If he can get himself all fixed up via surgery, and be ready to go later in the season to help the Rangers make a late charge at the playoffs, that would be an excellent situation.
This Goudey 4-in-1 insert came to me via Marie over at A Cardboard Problem. Its definitely a good mix of sluggers on this card, and the top row features the two finalists from last year’s Home Run Derby. You remember – Justin Morneau actually won it, even though Hamilton put on a heckuva show.
