With a new spate of interviews and press releases coming out to coincide with Hamilton’s book release and brief tour, there’s a lot of material out there about Josh to pick through and post. I’m anticipating a bit of a lull in news stories over the winter, but hopefully there will be lots of card pickups to tide me over.
A release posted on Trading Markets about Hamilton’s book has a number of quotes, about the book, about Hamilton’s life and about baseball. Towards the end, the subject of the playoffs comes up, and Hamilton reveals he is pulling for the team that drafted him, the Tampa Bay Rays. Carl Crawford was also drafted by the team in 1999, and their paths crossed in the minors and at the few spring trainings that Hamilton attended as a member of the Rays. Hamilton says about his former team, “You know, they’ve been doing good since they dropped ‘Devil.'”
I was hoping for a Rays / Dodgers World Series, but Rays / Phillies would suit me just fine as well. I really like Jason Bay, but I just can’t bring myself to cheer for the Red Sox.
